If this is the first time you try the Favorez skin named Website then the navigation bar on the left probably looks rather... empty!
Follow these 5 steps below and you will be creating your own website navigation system in just a couple of minutes.
Requirements
Favorez helps you with the basic framework and wiring of your website, not with its content. So before you start off with the steps below be sure to have some of your own HTML pages ready. Also it is assumed that you already know how to upload files.
1. Add an example Link
Click www.favorez.com/example1.html to bring up a new browser window with our example web page. Note the most intriguing quotation on this page. In this new browser window choose Add to Favorites from the IE Favorites menu. With the Add Favorite dialog box open select the folder named Favorez Website (which has just been created for you) and press OK.
2. Update
Now press the update button on the Favorez toolbar, it is the blue button with the white arrow. A new link, prosaically named "Example 1", appears in the navigation bar. Click this link to load the example web page into the right frame.
3. Add links to your own web pages
Now that you know how to add a link to the navigation bar you will be wanting to add some of your own pages. To do so first upload any or your own pages (HTML files) to the home page folder of your ISP. Then look up that page by typing its address into the IE Address bar.
The address usually looks something like this:
http://www.myprovider.com/~myaccount/mypage.html
Once your page is loaded simply add it to the Favorez Website folder just like you did in step 1.
4. Replace this help text
Of course you do not want this help text to appear on your website. To load one of your own pages instead, bring up the Design tab of the Website Properties dialog box. To do so press the properties button on the Favorez toolbar, it is the button with the pointing finger. An edit box named Default page is to be found at the top of the Design tab. In this edit box enter the full address of the web page to be loaded. Press OK and update your website.
5. Upload website
Once you are satisfied with the Website frames page you will need to upload it to the home page folder of your ISP. Choose View Files from the Favorez menu to look up the files that need to be uploaded. The IE address bar will show you the path to these files. Use this path in your FTP client program.
